Wyatt is 21 Months!

On July 10, while we were in Florida, Wyatt turned 21 months old! He learned a lot of new things on our trip and has continued learning new things daily!

Wyatt is no longer only walking - he's now running, skipping, and jumping! He's pretty quick, too. He has the cutest little run. His feet sway around and out and sometimes he's on his tip toes. He will run around the couch or chair when you're after him to change his diaper or clothes. He also loves to jump and says, "up." He's getting braver and beginning to get both feet off the ground. He also understands that hop means jump and he will sometimes say hop.

Wyatt's vocabulary is growing daily. I love to hear him say hi - it sounds more like hiya! Too cute! He will say hi when he's pretending to talk on the phone and he also says hi to random people in public places. He has recently started saying oh toodles when he's watching Mickey Mouse. He often tries to repeat things you tell him if he's in the talking mood. He has now said GiGi, MiMi and PawPaw. We have three very happy grandparents. KPaw doesn't mind a bit that his name may be changed to PawPaw! Go is another one of Wyatt's favorite words right now.

On July 18, shortly after we returned home from our trip we said bye-bye to the paci. This went so much better than I had anticipated. During nap time Wyatt would throw his paci so I would have to go get it and he could get up and prolong his wake time. Well, during nap time on this particular day I did not go get the paci. Wyatt cried for about 10 minutes and that was it. It was actually pretty easy. Every now and then he will ask for it by pointing to his mouth and sometimes in his sleep I see him reaching for it or attempting to put it in his mouth, but I think it's getting easier for him.

He has learned to climb out of his crib. He truly climbs out and doesn't fall out so that's a good thing. It scared Josh and I to death the first time he climbed out of the crib. We put him back in the crib and watched him to see how he was getting out. It's time for a big boy bed now! We have converted his crib to a semi-big boy bed!

We have been introducing Wyatt to the potty some. He has used the potty several times already! I'm thinking and hoping this will be a fairly easy task. He's too smart!

Wyatt knows a lot of his body parts including his head, hair, eyes, nose, mouth, lips, tongue, cheeks, teeth, hands, fingers, knees, feet, toes, belly button, and ears. He has recently started learning eye brows, heart, chin, and elbows. He is a fast learner. Sometimes he likes to open your eyes wide by pulling your eyelids up. Silly boy!

He is very curious and observant. Now, when I am cooking or washing something in the sink he pulls a chair over to the counter and stands in it to watch/help me. He likes to stir water in the sink with a spoon and help load/unload the dishwasher. He is a very good helper after supper. He likes to bring the dirty dishes to me. He also watches dada's every move. He loves everything that Josh does. He loves the water sprinklers, the tractor, the trailer, the plants, the mowers. He pushes his own little mower out in the yard when daddy is out working. He recently saw Josh fix one of Wyatt's tractor wheels by banging it back into place with his hand. Now, Wyatt will bang the wheels before riding the tractor. He says dada all day long. He can now say work because I tell him all day long that dada is at work. When he hears that truck pulling in the driveway he runs so fast to the window and gets so excited. He's turning into a daddy's boy! He also notices most things around him like motorcycles, airplanes, birds, etc. He points and gets so excited when he sees them. He even notices planes when we are inside by listening to them fly over the house.

Wyatt is very animated. He loves to tell stories in his own baby talk complete with hand movements. I wish I knew what he was saying - soon enough. He also has a new laugh. When he's being destructive or when he finds something new or something he really likes he starts making these deep excited/proud sounding laughs! We love it!

He is a very good non-verbal communicator. When there is something he wants but can't say he will point and take us to where he can show us what he wants.

Wyatt recently was promoted to the next Sunday School class - Toddlers 2. His first our teachers are MiMi and KPaw! They are excited! Now, they won't have to sneak him in there room anymore.

Our sweet boy gives the best cuddles. He puts his arm around your neck like you would do to him. He gives the best kisses, too. He still is really concerned for other people's boo-boos. He likes to kiss them to make them better. He loves to play ball and will ask you to sit to play with him! Sometimes he will grab your hand and take you to his room to sit and play. So sweet.

Wyatt loves to give knucks. He gives them to everyone and everything. He tries to give animals knucks and even things like airplanes. I think this is his way of saying he wants to go see something so he can give it knucks. Wyatt loves sweet tea and fruit snacks right now! We limit his consumption of these things, but I think it's awfully cute that he already loves sweet tea. He also loves to push the tabs (drink indicators) in on the top of to go cups. He will go around and push everyone's. I used to think he was asking for a drink, but he just wanted to push the tabs.

I have a hard time believing he's almost 2! We've been gearing up and planning for his Mickey Mouse 2nd birthday party!
